Universal welcomes the newest member of its AIRMAN Control Wheel product line -- the Canadair Regional Jet.

Universal designed the new CRJ Wheel to meet stringent certification requirements for a U.S. airline. The wheel was indistinguishable by real world pilots who tested the unit.

Accompanying the CRJ wheel is an all new dual control column system designed to better reflect the unique appearance of the regional jet columns.

Above Left: Precision is key.

Universal utilizes a digital caliper to better ascertain the unique widths and sizes of the CRJ wheel.

The instrument will come in handy this spring when the design team tackles the new ERJ wheel.

Above Right: Universal sources and equips the wheel with the same switches found on the real wheel.

Exception: Trim switch assembly. Wheel is complete with a cost effective alternative. The new assembly appearance & feel remains consistant.

Dual CRJ Controls

In modeling the CRJ wheel , Universal's design team spent time aboard several CRJ’s collecting detailed measurements and information. This exclusive real
world modeling continued in the crafting of a wooden model.

The wooden model is used solely to acquire a mold impression for the production process.

The mold is then filled with a highly durable
polyurethane resin, which captures every minute
detail.

ILLUMINATED CHART HOLDER

SUITABLE FOR WHEEL OR COCKPIT

Universal manufactures functional chart holders consistent with the wheel being modeled.

Our CRJ chart holder features a lamp hood protected by a clear window insert. Its low-power, white LED lamp provides hours of service and is intensity adjustable.

The unique “hands-off” design of the hood quickly and securely holds charts and other paper. A weighted caster rolls with the paper and automatically adjusts to hold it in place.

The chart can be angled to suit the pilot’s needs.

Unit can be mounted on wheel or anywhere else in the cockpit as needed.
